Around our house, the theme for Halloween this year is "tacky" - Literally. I suppose tacky could have a double meaning if you don't like how these lil pumpkins turned-out (LOL). But, for the price and quick turnaround, you can't beat this fun fall decroating project!
No tutorial needed, but I'll offer a few tips in case you decide to make your own . . .
1. Use a variety of different pins and tacks: I first started this project thinking I'd just use simple silver and gold tacks. But, then I found all these super cute pushpins at Target! ....
2. Don't worry about measuring: Let the lines of your pumpkin be your guide. You can see below that for my "knobby pumpkin" the lines aren't exactly perfect, but the natural lines of a pumpkin aren't exactly perfect either, so I like the fact that it exaggerates each pumpkin's unique lines...
3. Use washi tape for extra flair: I added some washi tape and it made such a huge difference! It not only acted as filler between the pins, but it helped amp up color and pattern . . .
4. Use typography: Have fun pinning phrases or names. I think it would be cute to personalize with kid's names or inititals. Also - would be fun to do other phrases like "RIP", "Trick" and "Treat" . . .
And the most important piece of advice is to HAVE FUN! I love projects that are both easy and full of ways to make it your own. So have fun and get pinning (literally!).
