It's back to school for us this week and to kick-off the new year, we host a cook-out last weekend. You can read more about it in my Back to School Cookout post from last week, which also has free printables to create your own party.
Tomorrow on the blog, I'll have tutorials for how to create some of the features we had at the party. But meanwhile, here are some pics from last weekend . . .
I channeled my inner-teen self to make this festive bulletin board that served as our backdrop. I love the little homemade pom-pom. More on how to make that tomorrow! . . .
These notebooks were so cheap (49 cents a piece) and kids of all ages seem to love them. We had 4-year-olds up to 13-year-olds and they alll had fun picking out notebook colors and pens.
I loved this party because it was fun for both kids AND adults. So often we parents only get to talk in passing while we're dropping kids off at each others houses or if we see each other at school or around the neighborhood. So, it's nice to have the tie to sit, chat and laugh with each other.
It's not too late to host your own party! You could even turn the theme into more of a school spirit/pep rally theme. That would be fun for football season!
More how-tos and tips for this party tomorrow.
Happy flairing! :) nikki
