Hello Flairy Tales followers! My name is Alicia and just like you I love finding inspiration (mostly from Pinterest) and then making it my own. I wish I was one of those awesome people that could come up with brilliant, beautiful creations from scratch, but I just don’t have the time. So, God bless those that do. Because if it weren’t for creative folks like you (and Pinterest), my friends and family would get store-bought gifts that simply don’t have the heartfelt sentiment that I want to convey. So if you're looking for a creative and usable baby gift that's easy to make, here’s my latest creation: the Onesie Baby Bouquet!
Just recently, one of mine and Nikki's dear friends had her first baby. It’s my ‘thing’ to come to the hospital bearing a bouquet of flowers for mommy, but this time it dawned on me: who wants the hassle of hauling a vase full of flowers home when you’re already juggling baby in the car seat, suitcases, and other gifts you’ve collected from your hospital stay?! I wanted to give our friend something unique, useful, and didn’t require maintenance when you brought it home. (A new baby was enough!)
I found the idea on Pinterest using washcloths wrapped in tissue paper. Cute idea, but I was traveling to see the new mommy and tissue paper wasn’t going to hold up on my journey. So, I used a soft cuddly blanket instead. And while wash cloths are super, I thought a bundle of onesies could go a long way for the new mom. So here I went – rolling, re-rolling, folding, re-folding, tucking, re-tucking (you get the picture) – until I had the gift just right! So no need for trial and error for you, my new Flairy friends, just follow my lead ...
And that's it! You've got yourself a one-of-a-kind creative baby gift that's both fabulous and functional. If you'd like to see what else I'm pinning, please follow me at http://pinterest.com/aliciahigh/
